Who we are VOL. 02 / 2026

Mission & Vision

We're building the public record of what AI can — and can't — do in real scholarship: every paper AI-written, every verdict signed by a human expert.

For the first time, AI is attempting to generate scholarship — not just summarize it. These principles guide how we measure what that means.

Our Mission

The Permanent Record

To build the only systematic, expert-validated public record of AI scholarly capability. We subject AI-generated research to structured human review across every discipline — creating a permanent corpus that documents what AI produces when asked to do real scholarship, and what domain experts find when they evaluate it.

Our Vision

The Definitive Benchmark

To become the definitive public benchmark for AI in scholarship. A future where every claim about AI's capability in research can be tested against a real, accumulating evidence base — built on expert judgment, documented with full provenance, and open to the entire research community.

If AI scholarship improves, the corpus becomes the record of that development. If it does not, the corpus becomes the evidence for why. The platform is designed to be meaningful in either case.

How we work

Core principles

How we translate our mission into practice.

01

Symbiosis, Not Replacement

AI is a tool for thought, not a substitute for the thinker. Our platform places human experts as the sole authority on whether AI-generated scholarship meets the standard — because only they can tell the difference.

02

Radical Transparency

In science, method is as important as the result. For every article we disclose the model, version, parameters, and prompt structure — a full provenance chain from research question to expert verdict.

03

The Permanent Record

Every review, every finding, every expert evaluation becomes a permanent part of the public record. The better AI gets, the more historically significant the early record becomes. This corpus appreciates with time — it does not expire.
